Changes in the price of fuels has led to an increase in the costs sustained by the transport industry, which was then forced to apply a variable fuel supplement called Index-linked Fuel Surcharge.
This Index-linked Fuel Surcharge is an automatic variation applied to transport tariffs and refers to the average monthly consumer price of diesel fuel for use in vehicles officially established by the Ministero dello Sviluppo Economico. (Italian Ministry of Economic Development).
The Index-linked Fuel Surcharge may be subject to variations on a monthly basis and is applied as per the percentage established in the tariff offer for each percentage point, or fraction, of average monthly consumer price increase for diesel fuel with respect to the “reference price” given in the contract for carriage of goods.
