Artoni's turnover ended the first half of 2014 in positive territory and the forecasts are for further growth in the second half

REGGIO EMILIA 04.08.2014 – Despite a domestic economic context in which an upturn in consumption and production has failed to occur, Artoni’s turnover remained substantially stable in the first six months of 2014 compared with the same period in 2013.

Profitability continues to confirm a positive trend, where earnings before interests and taxes, depreciation and amortization (Ebitda) are growing and consistent with corporate forecasts (+95% compared with the same period in 2013).

The first six months of 2014 saw an increase in the number of shipments (+2%), positively influenced by the performance of the Artoni Expedit service, the company’s true core business, and the Artoni Europe service, which now covers the whole of Europe thanks to new partnerships.

All this, plus the excellent results obtained by the new temperature-controlled freight transport service, Artoni Pharma which, in just a few months, has become a benchmark in the distribution market for pharmaceuticals and health products in Emilia Romagna and Central-Southern Italy.

Artoni’s employment level during the first half of 2014 remained the same as the previous year. Implementation of the union agreement signed in January 2014 allowed Artoni to achieve its goal of reducing labour costs, also obtained by resorting to the Ordinary Redundancy Fund for 12 hours/month.

These important results, which are contributing in a positive way towards achieving an improvement in margins, are due to Artoni’s on-going commitment to a management policy based on conscientiousness and focused on new strategic investments.

In view of the positive trends in freight volumes and profitability registered during the first half of 2014, Artoni forecasts further growth in the second half of the year and an additional increase in its market share.
